For the first time in history the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) will be headed by Ukraine. Chairman of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine Roman Nasyrov is the elected president of IOTA.
During the twentieth session of Organization’s General Assembly the representatives of 46 global tax administrations supported Roman Nasyrov for the post of IOTA President.
Commenting on his election for the post of the President of Organization, Roman Nasyrov noted that it is an important event for Ukraine. We head IOTA for the first time. Next year our country will have the opportunity to obtain all benefits from conducting the session of the General Assembly, which is conducted in the state of IOTA President. We are grateful for this opportunity, for recognizing our experience and professionalism”.
He emphasized that Ukraine made its choice in favor of the European community, European values and freedoms, that’s why the recognition and trust of European colleagues are very important for Ukrainian state.
“We are ready to use experience of other countries for improvement of our own taxation system. However, we will also be glad to share our own achievements and achievements with the European colleagues, in particular, in electronification of services”, SFS Chairman added.
“We understand full importance of expansion of international ties in tax sphere for improvement of activities of the State Fiscal Service. Ukraine is ready to further cooperation in this sphere and improve its own tax system. The membership in IOTA provides the opportunity to become more familiar with information exchange processes, to raise the professional level of tax service employees through participation in organization events and share experience with other countries”, SFS Chairman noted during his speech at the General Assembly session.
Speaking about the organization’s priority tasks for the next year, Roman Nasyrov focused attention on three aspects: improvement of control over the observance of tax legislation and tax collection; development of services for taxpayers and decreasing administrative load; decreasing expenses for tax administration.
“We see our task in coordination of IOTA members in ensuring further effective cooperation between tax administrations in the European region and supporting their development. Our main goal is to continue the course, aimed at furthering cooperation between European countries in tax sphere and stimulating interdepartmental interaction”, SFS Chairman summarized.
