Prices for «green cars» can decrease by more than 20% in total.
The Cabinet of Ministers will impose new benefits for electric cars.
Ukraine plans to cancel the excise tax, VAT and PF for electric cars and possibly reimburse the partial cost to the owners of electric cars, Segodnya reports.
In three years, the share of electric cars should be 15% from all sold cars, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelian said during the round table.
In order to reach this indicator, the Cabinet of Ministers plans to make electric cars more attractive for Ukrainian car enthusiasts.
First of all, the government will try to decrease the cost of electric models. The Ministry of Transportation plans to cancel the tax on electric cars in Ukraine as well as VAT and pension tax during the first registration. In total, it will enable to decrease the price by 21.6%.
According to Volodymyr Omelian, the Ministry also considers the option of reimbursement of the partial cost of electric cars. Such benefits exist in the USA and many European countries.
In addition, Volodymyr Omelian does not exclude that in future Ukraine may start production of electric cars, and it will decrease their cost. The Minister considers that Volkswagen, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Nissan and Fiat can become the potential investors.
It should be reminded that last year Ukraine ranked among top ten European countries in terms of sale of electric cars.
