The searches are being conducted as part of the investigation of the case on tax evasion in especially large amounts.
The searches were being conducted by the representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine in the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine starting from Friday morning, March 31, the authorized government official of AMCU Svetlana Panaiotidi wrote in her Facebook page, Correspondent.net reports.
“General Prosecutor’s Office. 7:30. Open or we will knock down a door. Search in AMCU. Nobody is permitted inside the building. Masks. Weapon”, Panaiotidi wrote.
According to her, AMCU employees were not permitted to enter the building and were standing outside.
As the General Prosecutor’s press secretary Larisa Sargan specified to UNN, the searches in AMCU are being conducted as part of the investigation of the case on the scheme of tax evasion and illegal withdrawal of billions of hryvnias abroad.
“The searches are being conducted by GPOU’s representatives in the Antimonopoly Committee”, Sargan said.
According to her, these billions were withdrawn from the country, including for financing terrorism – as General Prosecutor Yuri Lutsenko reported earlier today.
