President Petro Poroshenko encourages the people’s deputies to take off the agenda of the parliament the included draft law on creation of the Anticorruption Court in the country, he wrote in Facebook, Correspondent.net reports.
The President warns that on the contrary, he will have to bring his version of the legislative initiative to the Verkhovna Rada.
“I ask the people’s deputies to take off the agenda the old draft law On Anticorruption Courts as the Venice Commission recommended it, and to clear the space for a new project”, the President wrote.
He reminded that next Friday, it will be a month after he proposed the Verkhovna Rada to speed up the process of creation of the High Anticorruption Court.
“My offer is still open. However, if, at the beginning of the next week, I do not see any progress, within seven-ten days, I will independently prepare and introduce the relevant draft law”, Poroshenko said.
He noted that it was dictated by the desire to create maximally favorable conditions for approval of the relevant law. Its draft is being developed, it should be approved by the different political forces.
It should be reminded that President Petro Poroshenko wrote a letter to Chairman of the Parliament Andrii Parubii with the request to withdraw the draft law on the anticorruption courts and proposed creating a group on the development of this law in the Rada.
