On the eve, Head of SFS in Vinnitsa was detained. According to mass media, Prodan’s drivers were also searched.

On Monday, July 9, some searches were conducted in Vinnitsa Office of the State Fiscal Service, ZN.UA  reports quoting the high-ranking source in the government.

According to the edition, during searches, the Head of Vinnitsa SFS Ruslan Osmolovsky was detained and brought before Kyiv Pechersk District Court for determining the preventive measure.

It is noted that Osmolovsky was the first deputy head of Vinnitsa SFS when Miroslav Prodan, who is the acting head of SFS, was its head.

“Osmolovsky was detained with regard to the inactive case, initiated in 2016 based on the events of 2015. Probably, the case is due to the gathering and export of walnuts. But we will have to objectively clarify whom these walnuts belong to – Ruslan Osmolovsky, Miroslav Prodan or Igor Kononenko”, the source reports.

It is also reported that Prodan’s drivers were searched.

SSSU state that they have audio and video records, testifying that Prodan violated the law. Therefore, according to the edition, the government with 80% probability expect that the SSSU’s Anticorruption Office will take steps against the acting head of SFS.

It should be noted that last week, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman stated that while he is the head of government, Miroslav Prodan will be SFS’ Head.

It should be noted that previously, the Cabinet of Ministers attempted to reassign SFS to the government. However, the decision did not come into force due to IMF’s criticism of this decision.
