The denial of the Ukrainian to undergo the initial verification or reverification (detailed verification of the data) in the bank may be the grounds for blocking account transactions. And if the individual provides any unreliable information about himself or his transfers, his account may be closed.
In order the banks do not fear tough measures and apply them without remorse, the National Bank put them down in the letter №57-0009/36366, finance.ua reports quoting UBR.
They say that the bank should immediately stop servicing the individual, if he tries to deceive the employee with false information or provided forged documents (in this case, the police is called). Any transactions of this client will be considered as high-risk, and the bank may be severely punished by the National Bank for conducting them.
NBU insists that the financial institutions conduct a deep verification of each individual during the verification. If required, the additional documents will be requested not only from him, but also from third parties. They may be the regulatory bodies, other legal entities – all these details are also mentioned in the National Bank document.
