McDonald's fast food chain decided to close part of its establishments in Venezuela in connection with the company's policy of adapting to the markets in which it is present. This was reported on Sunday by EFE agency quoting Arcos Dorados, which manages the brand in Latin America and the Caribbean, UNN reports.
"We continue to adapt our business to the dynamics of the markets in which we are present. In accordance with this dynamics and adaptation (to it), we recently closed a small number of restaurants (in Venezuela)", the company said in a statement.
According to the company, "this is not the closure of the franchise, more than 120 restaurants continue to operate". "We remain committed to assisting the development of the country, as it has been done for 33 years in Venezuela", noted in Arcos Dorados.
In recent years, Venezuela is experiencing the acute socio-economic crisis, accompanied by the hyperinflation, devaluation of the national currency and a shortage of essential goods and medicines. The difficult situation forces many Venezuelans to leave their homeland. According to the latest UN data, about 2.3 million people left the Bolivarian Republic, mainly to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil.
