The plan contains the practical steps, aimed at the increase of operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the press-office of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports, UNIAN reports.
“The indicated document has been prepared with the purpose of the practical realization of agreements, reached during the meeting of the Chief of General Staff – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Chief of General Staff of the Turkish Republic in February 2016”, the message says.
It is noted that the Implementation plan defines the directions and spheres of the military cooperation between the armed forces of two states until 2020. In particular, it refers to the reforming and military planning, military education and preparation of troops, advisory and consultative assistance, cooperation between the types of the armed forces.
“The realization of practical measures of cooperation in the military sphere will allow strengthening links with our southern neighbor, on one side, and focusing efforts on reaching the ultimate purpose – the readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the NATO membership in 2020, - on the other side”, - as they emphasized in the General Staff.
Previously UNIAN reported that Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman conducted the meeting with the Minister of National Defense of the Turkish Republic Ismet Ilmaz. The Parties have discussed the prospects of deepening the bilateral cooperation of countries, in particular in military technical and trade spheres.
