The European Union has not developed the mechanism for cancellation of visa yet, if it becomes necessary, Correspondent reports.
The development by EU authorities of the mechanism of cancellation of non-visa regime is the last impediment on the way to cancellation of visa regime of Ukraine with the European Union, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitrii Kuleba said to 5 channel, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that this mechanism refers not only to Ukraine, but to any country.
“The last impediment, which needs to be overcome by the European Union, is to formulate the known regulation on how the operation of visa-free regime will be cancelled not only for Ukraine, not only for Georgia, but for any other country, having the visa-free regime with EU, in case if migration risks will sharply start growing”, Kuleba said.
The ambassador expressed hope that after the relevant mechanism is found and the necessary bureaucratic procedures take place, EU will cancel visas for Ukrainians.
“I am sure that there will be a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union. We will come to this finish, we will cross this line and will go to the countries of Schengen zone with biometric passports without visas, but only one path is left to go. And this path is left to go not for us. We have already gone our path, we have already done everything, required from us, however it was extremely difficult. The European Union should go its path”, Kuleba reports.
