The experts will choose one Kazakhstani project, which will compete with other teams from the whole world for the prize fund, amounting to one million dollars – informBUREAU reports.
The Swiss company Seedstars World, jointly with Kazakhstani business incubator MOST and Verny Capital Group of Companies, announced about the start-up contest and conference of development of the start-up ecosystem in the region. The general prize fund makes up one million dollars.
“The best support of developing states is the support of their entrepreneurship through investments into best talents. Our competition will give the chance to obtain USD 500 ths from Seedstars as well as the unlimited number of investments from investors from our network from the whole world”, General Director of Seedstars World Alize de Tonnak told.
The project concept consists in decreasing the unemployment rate in developing countries through creation of workplaces and development of entrepreneurship. Seedstars is focused on technological startups in finance, advertising, education, media, travelling, Internet and other industries, associated with Internet technologies and communications.
“We are happy to become the part of Seedstars World. The project will allow finding interesting startups, which have potential on the global market. We believe that young, creative entrepreneurs should become the driver of our economy”, Co-founder of Business Incubator MOST Pavel Koktyshev said.
“It is very important to support young generation in their wish to risk and open their business”, General Director of Verny Capital Erlan Ospanov said.
The first two days of the contest will take place in Rixos Borovoe, where nine regional winners from the Central and Eastern European countries as well as 10 best Kazakhstani projects will work with mentors and investors from the whole world.
The conference will take place on December 3 in Astana, during which the experts will choose one Kazakhstani project, which will compete with teams from around the globe for the prize fund, amounting to one million dollars on April 6 in Losanna.
The startups, which are not older than two years, can submit the application; the amount of attracted investments should not exceed $500 ths. The teams should have the working prototype or the functioning service.
