The tweets with potentially dangerous statements will not be displayed in response to the request, Voice of America reports.
Twitter stated that it augments efforts for prevention of “offences and aggression” on its platform.
On Tuesday, the company announced about several measures in this direction, which have already been undertaken. In particular, Twitter representatives reported that the platform will identify people, having the track record of offensive behavior online, in order not to allow them to create new accounts.
In addition, the company plans to launch the function of “safe search”, allowing deleting from search results “the tweets, containing potentially dangerous information, as well as tweets from blocked and temporarily blocked users”. Despite the fact that such tweets exist online, they will not be displayed in response to the request.
In addition, the company stated that it will “detect and delete the potentially offensive and noncompliant replies, focusing on the most important discussions”.
Lately, Twitter was falling behind other social media platforms – such as Facebook, for example. The company had to cut down staff. The recent attempt to sell Twitter failed.
For ten years of its existence, Twitter never made profit. In spite of changes of the format, the user base of the company continues to decrease.
