After the meeting with Tillerson, RF Minister of Foreign Affairs Lavrov stated about the response to U.S., Correspondent.net reports.
Russia will respond to U.S. unfriendly acts, according to the message of RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued as per the results of the meeting with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
“The situation in U.S.-Russian relationships was considered. Lavrov indicated that the approved law on sanctions against Russia became the next link in the chain of unfriendly steps, dangerous for international stability, and intensely struck the prospects of bilateral cooperation. Naturally, such actions, including the illegal detainment of the diplomatic property from the last December, could not be left unanswered. So it will be in the future. Nevertheless, we are ready for normalization of the dialogue, if Washington refuses from the confrontation line”, according to the message.
During the meeting, held in Manila, Lavrov and Tillerson also discussed the meeting in Manila. Consequently, the Russian minister “specified the acceptability of escalation of tension, to which U.S. military preparations lead around the Korean peninsula”.
“The further steps on settlement of the Syrian conflict were discussed, including the development of the Russian-American-Jordan memorandum on creating de-escalation zones, approved in July, in the southwest of Syria. Lavrov emphasized the necessity of strict observance of sovereignty and territorial integrity of this country as well as the provisions of resolutions of U.N. Security Council, which laid the basis for moving the political process”, according to the Russian Foreign Service.
