U.S. Secretary of State specified the termination of hybrid war in Ukraine as the terms for renewal of regular communication of alliance with RF.
U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson stated that now, NATO countries do not see the opportunities for normalizing the dialogue with Russia, Correspondent.net reports quoting RIA News.
“We discussed the interaction with Russia for long during this meeting. There is the consensus among all NATO members that today, the normalization of dialogue with Russia is not possible”, Tillerson explained to the journalists in Brussels.
He specified that the meetings of Russia – NATO Council are held periodically; however, the alliance does not intend to return to the regular sessions.
Secretary of State emphasized that the settlement of the situation in Ukraine and termination of hybrid war by Russia is the condition for renewal of the dialogue with Moscow.
It should be noted that NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said to the journalists that the alliance renews military contacts with Russia by military channels.
