The Boring Company, launched by Elon Musk for construction of tunnels in Los Angeles, attracted first investments, amounting to $112.52 mln, out of which Musk himself invested over $100 mln, Axios reports.

Other financial details are not revealed. The published documents of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) also do not specify who the investor of the deal is; however, it is known that the funds were received from 31 participant of the round – individual or organization.

The representatives of the company specified during conversation with Bloomberg that the main part of funds (90% or more than $100 mln) was received from Musk, and the remaining funds – from other employees of the company. The company specified that none of venture investors or external investors did not participate in the deal.

Meanwhile, the name of Musk himself is not mentioned in company’s documents. The director of The Boring Company is SpaceX engineer Steve Davis, and the executive director is Neuralink (other company of Musk) Jared Birchall.

Previously, The Boring Company did not announce about attracting investments, but earned money on non-core projects – sale of caps and flamethrowers.

It was previously reported that The Boring Company plans to launch a new product – the set of blocks, similar to LEGO construction set, for creating sculptures and buildings.

The stone, extracted from tunnels, is used for creating the set. The entrepreneur specified that the set, which consists of interlocking bricks, “is rated for California seismic loads”.
