The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine plans to double the amount of unified social tax from minimum salary, Minister of Social Policy Andrei Reva said in the interview, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“We have 30% of the salary – minimum. You will laugh, but the director of private enterprise has the minimum salary, so does his secretary. What should we do so they start paying more? I propose. We have a minimum UST rate 22%. Let’s set the minimum tax. Today, UAH 319 of the UST is paid from minimum salary. Let’s set the minimum tax at the level of UAH 640”, - Reva proposed.
According to the Minister, in this case there will be no sense for employers to pay salary of less than two living wages.
“That’s why it will be possible to increase the salary twice”, - Minister of Social Policy considers.
It should be reminded that Andrei Reva claimed about the necessity of expansion of UST imposition base.
