Ukrzaliznytsia and Lithuanian Railroad signed the agreement on expansion of cooperation in intermodal transportation, the press office of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reports.
“The positive growing dynamics of goods turnover between Ukraine and EU countries poses new challenges. We need to ensure reliable and effective transit connection towards Baltic – Black Sea. We already have the successful experience of cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania – it is a cargo container train Viking and passenger Train of four capitals”, Minister Volodymyr Omelian noted.
The Ministry of Infrastructure will further expand the railroad connection with EU countries, he emphasized.
Omelyan also added that Ukraine has all opportunities for continuing the corridor the Baltic – Black Sea to the Caspian Sea and further to Asia.
It was previously reported that Train of Four Capitals is planned to be extended from Ukraine to Estonia.
