Since August 21, Monobank customers can pay for purchases, using Apple Pay's contactless payment service, Co-founder of Fintech Band Dmitry Dubilet wrote in Facebook.
According to him, Monobank coped with full-time testing of the application's performance, which takes place in Amsterdam for 4 days instead of the standard two weeks.
Monobank is the third Ukrainian bank with the technology support. Earlier, Apple Pay became available to customers of the state-owned Privatbank and Oshchadbank.
According to Dubilet, two factors helped to convince Apple. First, Monobank customers conduct so many transactions through Android Pay as Privatbank clients, despite the difference in the number of connections.
Secondly, Monobank cards turned out to be one of the most popular attempts at adding to Wallet – the application for connecting Apple Pay.
Add the card to Apple Pay can owners of the iPhone 6 and more modern models, as well as owners of Apple Watch of all generations. You can do this in the Apple Wallet or Monobank application.
When calculating with Apple Pay, Internet connection is not required, and card details are not stored on the user's device and are not transferred to the traders.
