As previously, the National Bank forecasts increase of gas rates by 25% this year and by 15% in the next year, NBU Deputy Governor Dmitri Sologub said during the briefing, UNIAN reports.
“The forecast did not change: we anticipate increase of gas rate by about 25% this year and by 15% in the next year”, he noted, adding that the regulator did not change its forecast yet.
According to NBU Deputy Governor, considering that the utility rates constitute about 20% of the consumer price index, this year the influence of gas price increase on the inflation will be about 1.2%.
“Now, we are anticipating what decision will be approved”, Sologub added.
It should be noted that currently, the gas rate for population in Ukraine is UAH 6.9579 for the cubic meter. With the forecast increase of gas rates by 25%, the price of the gas cubic meter will increase up to UAH 8.7 per cubic meter. The further forecast price increase by 15% will lead to the price, equal to UAH 10 per cubic meter.
