From October 10, BlaBlaCar starts implementing a paid access to booking driver’s seats in Ukraine, according to the company’s website.
The booking of seats in short distance trips up to 120 km will remain free-of-charge. For trips over 120 km, you should select one of two options of access: 1 day per 49 UAH or 1 month per 59 UAH.
It will be possible to pay for the access to booking on the website or in the mobile application BlaBlaCar. The driver will be able to pay for travel costs by cash, as previously.
BlaBlaCar remain free of charge for car owners.
For all current 4 mln users in Ukraine, a 3-month free-of-charge access to bookings will be available, which needs to be activated by November. All new BlaBlaCar users will receive a free-of-charge access for 1 months for bookings.
The French service BlaBlaCar started operating on the territory of Ukraine in February 2014. In 4 years, the Ukrainian market became one of the top fast-growing countries for BlaBlaCar.
As of today, BlaBlaCar operates in 22 countries, and the total number of users is 65 mln people.
It should be reminded that for 9 months 2018, the service became profitable for the first time since its foundation in 2006. It is monetized in 9 countries, including the “newbies” Ukraine and Russia – in particular, France, Germany, Spain, Poland and others.
