The press conference took place today
Today the press center of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine had a briefing with First Deputy Chairman of the State Statistics Service Vadim Pishcheyko on the results of socio-economic development of Ukraine in 2013.
Vadim Pishcheyko, in particular, reported that in 2013 the consumer price index (inflation) (December to December, 2012) was 100.5%, the lowest figure during all statistics surveys, except for deflationary 2002 and 2012.
Producer price index of industrial production for 2013 was 101.7 %. Thus in the mining industry and the development of quarries the prices grew by 5.8 %, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioned - by 5.2 %. However, in the manufacturing industry decreased in prices by 0.2%.
Following the 2013 production in the industry fell by 4.7%. However, production in manufacturing industries increased such as the production of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical goods (11.6 %) and manufacture of wood products, paper, printing goods (2.6 %).
In agriculture, the rate of increase in production compared to 2012 was 113.7 %, including agricultural enterprises - 120.7 %, in households - 106.4 %. Thus, the output increased in such products as animal products (4.8%), and crop production (18.1 %).
The amount taken away from the beginning of investment in the economy of Ukraine in foreign direct investment (equity) on October 1, 2013 amounted to 56.6 billion dollars, which is 2.3 % more than the amount of investment at the beginning of 2013, and per capita is 1245.6 dol.
In January- November 2013, exports of goods amounted to 57.4 billion dollars, imports - $ 70 billion. Prior to the corresponding period in 2012, exports amounted to 90.8 %, import - 91.1 %. The negative balance was 12.6 billion dollars (January- November 2012 it was also negative - 33.6 billion dollars).
In retail sales volumes in January- December 2013 increased by 9.5%.
Unemployment rate (by ILO methodology) of the economically active population aged 15-70 years was 7.0 %, and of the working 7.4% and 8.0%, respectively). In the corresponding period in 2012 the registered unemployment rate in the whole country amounted to 1.8% of the working age population.
Disposable income, which can be used to purchase goods and services in the III quarter of 2013 compared to the corresponding period in 2012 increased by 1.6% and amounted to 303.6 bln. Real disposable income in the III quarter of 2013, determined on the price factor, increased by 1.9 % compared to the corresponding period in 2012.
Average monthly wages per full-time employee in 2013 were 3265 UAH, which is 2.7 times higher than the minimum wage. Compared to 2012 wages increased by 7.9%.
The total amount of unpaid wages on January 1, 2014 was 808.2 million UAH, which is 9.6 % less than at the beginning of 2013. Reducing the total amount of unpaid wages was in all kinds of businesses.
The population of Ukraine on December 1, 2013, was 45,439.8 thousand. From the beginning, the population decreased by 113.2 thousand people.
The birth rate decreased from 11.5 to 11.1 live births per 1,000 population, the mortality rate remained at the level of the corresponding period last year - 14,5 ‰. However, there is a tendency to reduce the mortality rate of children under 1 year: from 8.6 deaths per 1,000 live births in January-November of 2012 to 7.9 in January-November of 2013.
