Limitations are set for withdrawals exceeding 15 ths hryvnias
The National Bank of Ukraine set up temporary limit on withdrawal of cash in foreign currency exceeding 15 ths hryvnias, Chair of NBU Stepan Kubiv said at the press-conference, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Украина) reports.
«The NBU passed an interim decision on setting the limit on withdrawal of cash in foreign currency at the exchange rate on the day of transaction, which will be valid only during one month. We’ve decided to regulate withdrawals by limiting their amount to the equivalent of 15 ths hryvnias a day», - he said.
Mr. Kubiv underscored that this measure is applied only to currency deposits. In his opinion, in case a depositor wants to draw out cash in foreign currency the amount of which is more than 15 ths hryvnias, the latter can do it but will get the required amount only in hryvnia (the foreign currency will be converted using the exchange rate set by the bank).
