NBU’s memo №18-312/8393
The NBU required the banks should redouble control of cash transactions, memo of the NBU №18-312/8393 of February 28, 2014 says, Vesti daily newspaper reports.
«During February, especially in the recent days, the cases of withdrawals of large sums of cash from current accounts by the economic entities and individual entrepreneurs for purposes stated as purchase of agricultural products, giving (receiving) financial aid, etc., have become more frequent» – the NBU’s memo says.
Yet, the memo neither elucidates lawfulness of cash withdrawals nor specifies measures to be undertaken by the officials in relation to those who took out money, however it is mentioned that data is based on the analysis of the information provided by the banks.
«I’d like to warn the senior officials of the banks that they will bear personal responsibility for failure to ensure inappropriate control of cash transactions», — the document says.
