Heavy dump trunks will move around the city from 22.00 till 10.00
From the beginning of June movements of transport vehicles of total weight exceeding 24 tons or with load weighing more than 7 tons, by most roads for public use across Ukraine since 10.00 up to 22.00 will be prohibited, the press-services of the USAAR reports.
Road builders explain: in summer high temperature air causes extreme heating of the asphalt-concrete road surface through accumulation of sunny radiation absorbed by its dark surface. In scientists’ opinion, the temperature of the road surface that can reach 40-42 С, with the temperature of the air of 28 С, softens organic matter, adherent coatings, making it more vicious , what worsens its endurance characteristics.
According to the preliminary estimates, the amount of losses the public road system incurs every year due to inappropriate exploitation of roads by companies-carriers tops UAH 2 billion.
The decision on seasonal limitation has been already passed in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy and Chernihiv oblasts, and required traffic signs and boards to inform the citizens have been installed.
