The loan at 0,1% interest rate for 40 years
Kyiv has been issued the loan amounting to $1 billion at 0,1% interest rate for 40 years, as has been said by Head of Kyiv City Administration Volodymyr Bondarenko at the media briefing «Report on 90-days Outcomes», The RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
Moreover, V.Bondarenko informed of at least two projects to be funded: Bortnychi Aeration Plant and 90 subway carriages revamp projects.
«There is a real problem with the Bortnychi Aeration Plant. As regards its reconstruction, we held the meeting with a Japanese company here, in Kyiv, twice and negotiate the way of modernization… We’ve signed some documents. What is meant here is the loan amounting to around one billion dollars. This loan issued for 40 years at 0,1% will allow fully rebuilding this plant to the eco-friendly factory, and removing silt, sludge and debris accumulated there», - said V.Bondarenko.
Besides, in his opinion, a serious work has been started on the transportation related project.
«First of all, this is applied to the subway. We’ve reached an agreement with the Japanese investors to use certain amount of the money to be lent on makeover of subway carriages. 90 carriages will be remade at our Kryukiv Plant. Their design will be different, the gear units will be anew, too, with the Japanese engines which are one third more efficient», - added V.Bondarenko.
