UAH 9,6 billion have been earmarked
Payments of pensions and social security benefits to low-income families, families with children, to disabled children and those disabled since childhood are being done as planned, the statement of the Ministry of Social Policy says.
In particular, the first 2,9 billion tranche was transferred to the accounts of post offices and banks having covered nearly 90% of the money needed to make payments to citizens qualified for different types of social security benefits.
Moreover, both post offices and banks have enough funds allotted from the government budget to pay June benefit amounts till June, 13 and 12, respectively: nearly half of the total amount required has been already disbursed – 9,6 billion hryvnias.
In addition, due to the situation in the eastern region of Ukraine that is continuing to be complicated, dwellers of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk in Donetsk oblast have been left without financial aid package so far. At the same time, paying pensions and social security benefits has been resumed in Antratsit town in Lugansk oblast just after the situation stabilized there.
As regards boroughs – Snizhne in Donetsk oblast and Chervony Luch in Lugansk oblast, only part of the funds needed has been transferred. The government has passed a decision to suspend any transactions and cash transportation there starting from June 11, 2014 until the situation is stabilized, in view of ensuring security of employees involved in this process.
