According to preliminary data, as of July 1, 2014, the turnover of international reserves stood at $17,83 billion, the press-office of the National Bank of Ukraine reports.
The bailout from the European Union totalling $1,38 billion boosted an increase in international reserves reported in May.
In addition, t paying off the sovereign debt in foreign currency ($1,977 billion) had an impact on the dynamics of the country’s international reserves, including payments made to the International Monetary Fund ($193 billion).
Throughout this year the National Bank of Ukraine has not carried out currency interventions in the interbank market of Ukraine.
