Letter dd. 24.09.2012, №325/10/136-12
In its letter dd. 24.09.2012, №325/10/136-12 the Ukraine’s Ministry of Social Policy is explaining: if an employee’s salary has been increased less than the wage index to be calculated on the month the wage increase takes place, the indexed amount is added to the amount of salary increase. The wage indexed amounts being fixed will be paid until the next salary increase exceeds the wage index, dtkt.ua reports.
If new indexes are not applicable, the subsequent increase in salary will not entail reduction in the index set before and equalling the wage increase.
In case the decrease in wage index by the amount totalling the next salary increase has already occurred, the employee’s salary will not be raised until the increase exceeds the fixed amount.
As regards an incentive payment, it is subject to indexation, too. However, given that the bonus payment, as a rule, is not paid regularly (its amount is changed monthly), it is not taken into account when determining a base month for wage indexation.
