The head of government gives instructions to the National Fiscal Service of Ukraine

On July15, 2014 Prime-Minister of Ukraine Arseny Yatseniuk convened a meeting with officials of the National Fiscal Service of Ukraine.

The meeting was attended by Head of National Fiscal Service of Ukraine Ihor Bilous, First Deputy of NFSU Volodymyr Khomenko, Deputy Head of NFSU Anatoly Makarenko, and Director of Tax & Customs Audit Natalia Ruban. Heads of all NDSU regional units joined the meeting through web conferencing.

Addressing the attendees, Arseny Yatseniuk underlined that today everybody should be aware that “Ukraine today differs from Ukraine even a half a year ago”, accordingly, a newly established fiscal service is completely different from the tax authorities we have accustomed to over the last 10 years».

The head of the government gave a series of instructions to the National Fiscal Service of Ukraine. In particular, he advised to work out the Code of Economic Growth. Mr. Yatseniuk underscored the necessity to reduce a number of taxes, increase the tax base, and simplify the tax system: «It is highly important to change both the tax system in Ukraine and approach to taxpayers».

Moreover, Arseny Yatseniuk assigned a task to create a financial investigation bureau. «Fiscal policy liquidation and breakthrough financial investigation», - the Prime-Minister outlined the direction.

Besides, the head of the government announced it is necessary to “introduce a completely new way to make audit checks” – to replace on-site audit with remote checks using IT software, via databases in the NFSU.

Arseny Yatseniuk added NFSU should open special accounts; he personally promised to do whatever he can so that help pass the decision on “tax compromise” in the parliament. 

The Prime-Minister said the deadline for all these assignments is September 2014. «You have time until September 1. It’s too much, by the way», - A.Yatseniuk accentuated.

«What I mean here is not the fortune of the National Fiscal Service but the fortune of the country. People wish to see the changes. Do it. Compel your employees to perform job duties defined when they were taken on», - the head of the government told the NFSU representatives.
