Goods are still being imported to the CIS markets
Today, the government of Ukraine does not plan to raise an issue of secession, i.e. termination of the CIS free-trade agreement, Valery Piatnytsky, government official in charge of European integration issues, said earlier today at the briefing, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
«For today, the dissolution of the CIS agreement (for free trade – ed. note) is not a question», - said V.Piatnytsky.
He added that trading volumes with Belorussia have lowered insignificantly. At the same time, Ukraine is responding adequately to the measures introduced by Belorussia in relation to the Ukrainian goods.
According to V.Piatnytsky, there are a lot of cases evidencing that Russia acts vague when imposing restrictions on import of Ukrainian goods, explaining they were not compliant with sanitarian and phyto-sanitary requirements.
In his opinion, as regards the Russia’s actions, it looks like the norms were applied ”selectively to make impediments to imports of Ukrainian goods to Russia”.
