A number of fake companies exceed 100
The interregional exchange bureau with a huge currency turnover of 5 billon hryvnias has been reportedly detected in Kyiv, Acting Head of Financial Investigations at the GD of the Ministry of Revenue & Duties of Ukraine in Kyiv city Ivan Kutsenko have said recently, the press-office of the ministerial department reports.
In his opinion, a network consisted of transit and fake enterprises has numbered more than 100 companies created to convert cash from non-cash transactions, having also overstated VAT deductions made by the companies of the real sector in the economy: in Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Kyiv oblasts and Kyiv city. An hourly total cash turnover of the so called “bureau de change” was around 5 billion hryvnias, consequently the losses incurred by the government amounted to nearly one billion hryvnias.
As the result of searches conducted in the premises of the malefactors, under the decision of the court trying a criminal case on tax evasion in largest amounts and fictitious entrepreneurship, there were seized source documents containing banking details, seals, computer equipment and communication devices, as well as hryvnia, US dollar, euro and the Russian rouble cash totalling around one and a half million hryvnias.
