Currently, the inflation rate stands at 14%
The National Bank of Ukraine is planning to keep inflation at 19%, said Director of the NBU’s General Department for Monetary Policy Olena Scherbakova at a press-conference, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
“Our forecast for this year is 19% inflation. For today, the inflation rate has reached 14%. Opinions can differ, but now we predict 19% inflation. These outlooks made by the NBU have been accorded with the International Monetary Fund, and we are still moving in this channel”, - said Scherbakova.
“Now, I don’t want to speak about any expectations. They are only expectations. We should get statistical data for August and tackle the problem as a whole “, - she added.
It is worth noting that according to the data from the National Statistics Committee of Ukraine the inflation rate in September 2014 has speeded up to 0,8% as compared to the figure in July 2014 standing at 0.4%. By December 2013 the inflation reached 12.9%, by August 2013 – 14.2%.
