The country has been in recession over the past 6 years
Head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontariova assures the index reflecting the Ukraine’ GDP set out in the IMF program will be reviewed and decreased some points up to 8-19%, said Gontariova at the round-table talks in Kyiv, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
«The actual GDP of our country has not reached yet the level achieved in 2008, implying that the country was in recession for six years. Today, the NBU’s forecast for the GDP growth is minus 8.3%. Majority of the world leaders agree that this index can be from minus 9% up to minus 10%. We are expecting that the review of the IMF program will take place at the end of October, the report also suggests the index can be minus 6.5, but, it is more likely that it will be also reviewed», - said Gontariova.
