Loan aimed to upgrade housing and utilities sector
Ukraine will receive a loan of up to €800 million from the European Investment Bank for the modernization of housing and utilities, as per the statement by the Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Hennadiy Temnyk, reports the agency's press-service.
Funds are attracted for a period of 25 years with a grace period of loan repayment of 6 years. The minimum loan amount on the project of modernization starts at €5 million at 3% per annum.
The first tranche of €200 million is scheduled for 2014.
To participate in the selection of projects that will be provided the funds raised, municipal utilities should apply to the SE Center of Public Private Partnership.
