The banks cannot issue loans and accept deposits in the Russia’s national currency
The National Bank of Ukraine has barred domestic banks from disbursing loans in the Russian roubles, Resolution of the NBU dd. November 3, 2014, No.699 says.
In particular, the document specifies:
“To ban operations in the Russian roubles in continental Ukraine: attraction of deposits under the deposit agreements, including increase in deposit amount placed before the law came into force, and extension of terms of the said agreements; issuance of loans, including overdraft loans, and those stipulating extension of the term of a loan or its part under the agreement concluded before the law came into force “.
The resolution comes into force on the day following the publication date in the official gazette.
