Annual inflation rate reached 17%
The core inflation rate has stood at 2.7% for the second straight month (1.3 d. p. – change in core consumer price index), raising on an annual basis up to 17.0%. The data is provided by the press-office of the NBU.
As the previous month figure, the core CPI1, a narrower price index, also grew in October (by 4.2%) mainly due to a sizable increase in clothing and footwear prices (by 6.4%; 0.4 d. p. – change in consumer price index), given an increase in seasonally adjusted imports of the said goods, at a new rate.
A hike in prices of highly processed goods is up to 2.5%, what can be explained by factor in time value, the difference between the rate index and adverse effects from rise in prices of feedstock.
