The data from the National Statistics Committee
The foreign trade surplus of Ukraine (excluding the temporary occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city) for January-October of 2014 amounted to 569.2 million dollars against deficit that stood at above 11 billion dollars as compared with a similar period a year ago, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports citing the data provided by the National Statistics Committee.
“Formation of the surplus was induced by certain merchandise groups: ferrous metals and products thereof (ten billion eight hundred ninety nine million one thousand dollars), grain crops (four billion nine hundred fifty six million six thousand dollars); fat and vegetable oil (two billion nine hundred ninety six million two thousand dollars), ores, slag and ashes (two billion four hundred thirty four million three thousand dollars); seeds and fruit of oil plants (955 million dollars); timber and products thereof (837.2 million dollars)”, - the document says.
For January-October of 2014 the export of goods was above 46 billion dollars, import – over 45 billion dollars. As compared to the figures for January-October of 2013, the export fell by 9.4% (by above 4 million dollars), import - by 27% (by over 16 billion dollars).
The coverage ratio of exports to imports was 1.01 (for 10 months of 2013 – 0.82). The foreign trade involved the partners from 215 countries.
