In December the volume of new car sales in Ukraine increased by 29 percent over the figures for November and made up 19 563 automobiles. The statistic presenting car sales shows that 56 percent of cars, or 11 thousand automobiles, sold in that period were new cars, the message posted by Ukravtoprom association says.
Thus, in anticipation of the changes to the legislation, announced before, a record-breaking number of commercial vehicles imported to Ukraine - 10 609 automobiles, were registered with the road traffic inspectorate in December last year, this is up by 44%, as compared with the sales in November.
The segment of passenger cars and buses also reported an increase, although not so sharp, as compared to the figures in November. The sales of used buses in the primary markets grew by 24 vehicles, or by more than 35%, and stood at 92 buses. Second-hand passenger cars that were registered grew by 2% over November, precisely, totalling 301 vehicles.
Upon the results for 2014, the sales of used cars in the primary market, being registered, reached 62 516 automobiles, or by 45% less as compared to the last year. It is worth noting that the drop in sales reported was not as drastic as in the new car market showing a decline by 55%.
Overall, the best selling cars in 2014, as compared to 2013, were commercial vehicles amounting to 58 191 automobiles, or standing at 44 percent of total car sales. According to the figures, the number of passenger cars sold amounted to 3 629 vehicles, or by 53% less, as compared to the previous year, buses – 696 automobiles (-63%, as compared to 2013).
