In Ukraine (excluding the temporary occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city), the average wage in December of 2014 was 4,012 hryvnias, showing an increase of 13.5% (or 478 hryvnias) compared with 3,534 hryvnias in November of 2014, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports, citing the data from the National Statistics Service.
As compared with December 2013, the average wage grew by 10.4%.
The number of employees hired in December compared with those employed in November fell by 1.1% and made up 8,392,800 people.
On average, the number of hours one staff member worked a week exceeded the figures for November by 11.2% - 152 hours.
The highest average wage reported in aviation industry was 14,023 hryvnias per employee. Financiers and insurance agents come the second – 8,171 hryvnias. The employees in the information and telecommunication fields obtained, on average, 5,935 hryvnias a month. Transport workers’ average wage was 4,029 hryvnias, technicians and scientists – 5,595 hryvnias.
The lowest wage of 2,096 hryvnias was that of postal workers, and 2,669 hryvnias - service employees (temporary lodging and food allowance). The average wage in the agricultural sector was 2,675 hryvnias.
As regards regions, the highest average wage in Kyiv reached 6,414 hryvnias, in Donetsk oblast – 4,498 hryvnias. The lowest average wage was paid in Ternopyl and Chernivtsy oblasts making up 2,992 hryvnias and 2,924 hryvnias, respectively.
