In the first month of 2015, in Ukraine, 2 597 new vehicles were registered with the traffic police, or 4.6 times less than the figures for the previous year, the message of the Ukravtoprom Association says.
Besides the significant decrease in a scope of sales, the market structure has also changed a lot.
The best-selling car last month was Nissan made by the Japanese carmaker, – 13 percent of the sales. Meantime, sales fell by 35%, from 521 up to 340 items, compared to last January; however, this did not impede Nissan to go up in the rating, from the 10th to the 1st position.
Despite a drop of 65% in sales compared to January last year, the Renault French car brand moved up from the 8th to the 2nd position, with total sales making up 200 items.
Thus, the cars made by a French-Japanese alliance, except the first two leaders in the rating for January, stood at over 20% of total sales in the Ukrainian market.
Skoda took the third position, having sold 188 cars. In Ukraine, Skoda car sales this year increased by 542 vehicles as compared with a year ago, when the brand maintained only the fifth position.
Toyota is in the fourth position, having descended from the second position holding in January last year. Currently, Toyota sales make up 180 items (-87% compared with a year ago).
Mazda is the top-5 in January, with 174 cars sold, having climbed from the 15th position taken a previous year, with 238 vehicles sold.
