The international rating agency Fitch Ratings regards that NJSC Naftogaz Ukraine might go into default if the government suspends its financing, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Украина) reports with reference to Fitch.
“We think that timely financial support from the government is still critically important for helping the company to remain solvent because Naftogaz has operational deficit caused by disparity in oil import prices and prices in the local market. We think that the company, most likely, will be on the end of default without financial backing-up of the government”, - experts at Fitch said.
At the same time, Fitch has confirmed long-term ratings of Naftogaz for foreign and local currency obligations to be at the ССС.
The agency specialists explain that Naftogaz ratings coincide with the rating of Ukraine (ССС) and reflect interlink between the company and state experiencing an ongoing tough times, weakening of its financial profile and susceptibility to political risks.
