Kyivstar company is going to use the credit obtained from the international group VimpelCom Ltd in the amount of $200 million to implement the 3G connection, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports, with reference to the press-office of Kyivstar.
‘To further develop the third generation mobile connectivity in Ukraine, Kyivstar attracted investment from the international group of companies - VimpelCom Ltd. The first tranche of the bailout totalling $80 million has been already transferred to the mobile operator’s account. The credit line makes up $200 million in total”, - the message says.
The interest rate for use of the money borrowed is 9.8% per annum.
“Along with VimpelCom we’ll continue making strategic investments into building the speedy Internet for mobile devices in Ukraine. Importantly, such tying up of foreign currency into this project is imperative, considering the current situation“, - commented President of Kyivstar Petro Chernyshov.
