NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine has acknowledged its debt owed to PJSC Ukrnafta, for supply of 10.1 billion cubic meters of gas worth UAH 3.753 million charged by Naftogaz, with reference to the Naftogaz financial report for 2012-2013 made available on the company’s website, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
“The company has calculated the debt to Ukrnafta for the gas consumed in 2006-2011 at the prices set by the National Commission for Energy and Utilities Public Regulation for the said periods, in the amount of 3 753 million hryvnias, for 10.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas”, - the document says.
Naftogaz noted that, under the law, the agreement for gas supply in 2006-2011 was not concluded with Ukrnafta, although the latter is obliged to sell all gas produced to Naftogaz.
"As long as the consumption of natural gas is a continuous process, and agreements for natural gas supply concluded by population are still valid, there are no grounds to suspend gas supply”, - the statement says.
Thus, Naftogaz has filed a lawsuit in court to claim for the right to enter into agreements for gas sales.
Simultaneously, Ukrnafta has filed the claim to dispute the sale price set by NCEUPR, as not being the just price, and to charge higher prices. Moreover, Ukrnafta has filed also a series of claims against Ukrtransgaz and Naftogaz for the property right to natural gas.
