The consolidated opinion given by the accountants of Ukraine is the force that can have an impact on the national legislation, what has been resolved at the accounting business forum that has provided a nationwide platform for a fruitful dialogue between business and government.
This forum that took place on March 31, 2015 in Kyiv was attended by about 150 delegates, including accountants, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, National Fiscal Service, lawyers and managers of commercial companies.
The initiator and organizer of the event was the All-Ukrainian public organization Accountant Club, partners – Balance Club publishing & consulting company, Balance magazine, “uteka.ua” Internet edition, and Skyline & Software (1C software distributor in Ukraine), Intelligence Service (M.E.Doc IS), Jurimex law firm, Independent Auditor and Companion publications.
The first part of the forum was dedicated to the analysis of the 2015 tax-reform, best practices, software applications, search of concord and convergence between the requirements of businesses and controlling bodies, said Director for NFS Tax Methodology Nelli Privalova and Chief for Income Tax Methodology Olexy Zadorozny, while delivering their speeches, other representatives of the NFS. Accountants had a possibility to hear from the renowned speakers about VAT reporting using the standard configuration 1C: Enterprise and 1s: Report Application, and formats for exchanging source documents in the M.E.Doc IS application.
The second track’ topics were about accounting policies. General requirements for the formation of accounting policies are set out in the MOF’s report prepared by Oleg Kantsurov (Chief for Accounting Methodology). The forum participants also discussed the issues related to the role of accountants in business during the crisis and shortage of working capital.
Olga Tseluiko, Editor of Balance, the Ukrainian accounting magazine, and Editor of uteka.ua, the Internet online publication, expounded on accounting issues.
When delivering reports, the experts came to a very important conclusion: any enterprise cannot do without profound knowledge of accounting, and an accountant cannot manage without a professional association. In particular, Ph.D. in economics Apollon Pozov, Chair of All-Ukrainian Accountant Club civil society organization underscored that it is necessary to enhance the role of civil society organizations in embedding reforms and raising standards of accounting service excellence, decision-making process as regards the accounting methodology, international networking and exchange of experience.
Although participating in business meetings, forum participants had time to combine business with pleasure; ladies shared their secrets on how to succeed in business and remain charming and attractive. Among panel speakers were Deputy Director of Balance Club Svetlana Pozova, President of WISE club of Ukrainian businesspersons Olga Golubeva, and actress of Ivan Franko Drama Theatre, Honoured Artist of Ukraine Inna Kapinos.
