In Ukraine (excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol city), the average salary in March 2015 amounted to UAH 3 863, showing an increase of 6.3% (or UAH 230) compared to UAH 3 633 in February 2015, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) cites the data from the State Statistics Service.
Compared to the figures for March 2014, the average salary rose by 13.1%.
A number of employees hired in March 2015 increased by 0.1% compared to February, and amounted to 8.131 million people.
On average, one person employed full time in March worked 143 hours, exceeding by 5.6% the figures in February.
The top industry with the highest average salary equalling to some UAH 18 669 per employee is the aviation sector. Financiers and insurance agents are in the second place, with salary of UAH 8 008.
Employees of media and telecoms industry received an average of UAH 6 923. The average salary of transport workers was UAH 4 226, that of technicians and scientists – UAH 6 508.
The lowest wage earners were post office agents – UAH 2 078, while health and social care workers - UAH 2 473. The average wage in agriculture was UAH 2 925.
In relation to regions, traditionally, Kyiv holds the first place, with the average salary equaling UAH 6 316, the second is Donetsk region – UAH 4 462. The lowest average wage was in Kherson and Chernivtsi - UAH 2 749 and UAH 2 741, respectively.
