Ukraine has applied to international banks such as Citi, JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley to issue $1 billion in eurobonds maturing in 5 years and guaranteed by the US Agency for International Development, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
Significantly, eurobonds are being placed under the guarantee agreement with the US signed on May 18, in order to implement economic reforms in a country experiencing the economic crisis aggravated by the armed conflict in the southeast.
Washington stands ready to consider possibility of giving guarantees as regards another $1 billion in bonds by the end of 2015. The terms of issue stipulate the semi-annual coupon payment. It is planned to sign the agreement as soon as possible.
