The current system of privatization is not effective, it will not save Ukraine from the crisis aftermath, noted President of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Anatoly Kinakh at a round table discussions held June 8, 2015, in Kyiv.
The organizer of the event was the anti-crisis council of public organizations. Among the events attendees were representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the State Property Fund of Ukraine, heads of Illichivsk Sea Commercial Port subsidiary, JSC Odessa Port Plant, Antonov subsidiary and Union of Chemists of Ukraine.
According to the manufacturing community and NGO representatives, to carry on privatization as efficiently as possible, the public administration reform is to be implemented, this will help stabilize the exchange rate, work out programs, liberalize trade and reduce import duties. In addition, it calls for review of the government-owned properties and reassessment of their initial value.
The revenue of UAH 17 billion stipulated by the law of Ukraine on government budget is too low to sell a large portion of the national wealth.
All these issues were included in the appeal that will be soon sent to the senior executives in the government.
