In 2014, the largest agricultural holdings which financial reports are in public domain, received tax credits worth more than UAH 3.5 billion, said Deputy Finance Minister Elena Makeieva, commenting future voting on Bill No.2527, RBK-Ukraine (РБК-Україна) reports.
“The preferential VAT rate regime is a boon for all farms applicable, regardless of their size and status. If it comes to large agricultural holdings, they add greater value compared to small agricultural enterprises, get a surplus of working capital due to VAT credits, what allows strengthening of their positions in the market, as statistics proves. Thus, tax credits obtained by the largest agricultural holdings in 2014, with publicly available reports, exceeded UAH 3.5 billion", she said.
According to Deputy Minister, experts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy are developing the comprehensive strategy for development of agriculture and rural areas in 2015-2020. The MOF as a central executive body that shapes tax policies, in turn, can contribute to the development of the transparent agricultural sector by creating a level playing field in taxation of businesses.
