The National Bank of Ukraine simplified the conditions for fulfilling capital increase of banks by foreign investors. With this aim the resolution of the Management Board of the National Bank of Ukraine dd. 01.10.2015 №658 on Introduction of amendments to the resolution of the Management Board of the National Bank of Ukraine dd. March 31, 2014 №182 and №657 on Introduction of amendments to the resolution of the Management Board of the National Bank of Ukraine dd. September 03, 2015 №581, was approved, the NBU press-service reports.
The resolution №657 stipulates the necessity for authorized banks to return funds to foreign investor, directly to the investment account, opened at his bank, in case of preschedule fulfillment of obligations under FX loan agreement. This will be permitted only in case of further use of these funds for increasing capital of the bank, said the Head of NBU Banking Supervision Department Ekaterina Rozhkova.
By the resolution №658 the regulator also permitted the authorized banks to purchase foreign currency at the interbank FX market, received from foreign investors for increasing equities of these banks. The amount of such purchase should not exceed the volume of formed reserves in foreign currency of 1st group of the NBU Classifier.
