The secretary general of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Slyshynskyi informed that the work has started on implementation of electronic parliament, which envisages better openness, improvement of communication, implementation of new technologies, RBC-Ukraine reports.
«This project involves technical re-equipment, purchase of corresponding equipment, installation of information security systems and software, on which UAH 90 mln will be spent. Primarily these funds will be directed to the purchase of equipment, the development of fiber optic nets, the development of special information security systems, because there is necessity to improve safety of state information storage”, noted Slyshynskyi.
Meanwhile, the secretary general of the VRU considers it appropriate to spend such funds on re-equipment of the parliament.
“Last purchase of serious equipment was 10 years ago. The Wi-Fi connection was also installed on that time. There is no Wi-Fi anywhere else in Rada. Currently there are entirely new standards, new approaches. The equipment, which we have, does not meet our requirement that all people could work properly – both deputies and journalists. Now we would like to replace it with proper professional equipment… If we speak about the meeting room, about a half of the thousand people should work online simultaneously. That’s why we have these high requirements to equipment”, - he noted.
