Tomorrow, on December 15, the European Commission will present the report on Ukraine’s fulfillment of conditions for introduction of visa-free regime with the European Union (EU), as it is reported by the source in the European Commission, RBC-Ukraine reports.
“There will be no decision yet, and it was never planned at the moment. Now only the report of the European Commission. The decision depends on EU countries. When will it be known? It is expected and was expected next year”, - added the interlocutor.
However, the report of the European Commission does not mean the adoption of decision on cancellation of visa-free regime.
It should be noted that previously information on shifting the report to the 21st of December has appeared in media.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine officially states that currently the European Commission is assessing the Ukraine’s fulfilment of criteria of the second phase of the Action Plan of Visa Liberalization (APVL). “The specific deadlines for publication of the report will be settled by the European Commission, which continues work with relevant bodies of the executive power of Ukraine, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on assessing fulfilment of APVL criteria. And specific deadlines for publication of the report will be settled by the European Commission in the nearest time”, the speaker of the department Mariana Betza said to RBC-Ukraine.
